Designed by renowned architect John Winter and built in 1967 this residence is one of London’s most architecturally significant modernist houses. This Grade II listed building, perched on the fringes of Highgate Cemetery, comprises innovative design features such as corten steel panels, concealed ventilation slots and extensive glazing to the facade.
The building is has been fully refurbished and now includes a large underground and small above-ground extension. Whilst these additions retain the features of the original scheme they also incorporate high-tech, energy efficient systems synonymous with more modern residential properties.
We were appointed to undertake full mechanical and electrical designs for the refurbishment, including energy design solutions and SAP calculations. Our designs were sympathetic with the existing shell to ensure the aesthetics and listed status of the building were not compromised.
