Sycamore Lodge forms part of the Woodfield Road complex which includes another in-patient mental health unit and large administration building. It was built in 2005, but prior to this project the unit had been standing idle for almost two years.
We were appointed to provide a comprehensive mechanical, electrical and public health design solution for this 9,150ft² block.
Due to their age we were able to retain all mechanical services, modifying and adapting them to suit the new facility as necessary. This included new LST radiators, extended domestic water services, modifications to the existing fresh air supply and extract systems, and extended drainage services to suit the new facility.
Our electrical services solution involved the separation of fire alarm, panic alarm, and intruder alarm systems from the adjacent unit so that the buildings could operate independently. We specified the installation of new small power services and energy efficient lighting to suit the client’s requirements.
The completed 3-storey building comprises consultation rooms, family therapy rooms and an observation area as well as administration offices.
