Paddington Central formed part of the wider Paddington Waterside redevelopment project, revitalising a 30-hectare canal basin area. The site of the Paddington Central element of the project was formerly a railway goods yard. Following the first phase of works there are now four 9-storey buildings fanning out around the central ‘park’.
Two of the four structures are residential, housing a total of 219 apartments. Retail/commercial units fill the ground level, with affordable housing on the two floors above. Luxury apartments boasting VRV comfort cooling amongst their high-spec fittings occupy the remaining floors, with penthouse apartments at roof level.
We were commissioned to carry out the performance specification for the mechanical, electrical and public health services. Our building services designs had to be particularly exacting in order to work within the restricted ceiling and other void spaces.
Our responsibilities included the coordination of the development’s utility infrastructure services.
