Margaret Pyke Centre
Wicklow Street is a 100-year old former warehouse comprising 16,000ft² space arranged over three floors. The project included the full strip-out of this office building, including all existing services, and re-fit to form clinical and ancillary areas.
We undertook design duties for the mechanical and electrical engineering services, including public health. Our designs include a number of energy-efficient features including a VRF air conditioning system to serve the heat and cooling requirements, and heat recovery supply/extract fan units to serve the fresh air requirements of the building. New central generated domestic water and drainage services were installed throughout.
LED lighting was specified throughout the building, as well as new small power services, an L1 category fire alarm system, access control, and a panic alarm system to all patient areas.
The completed building comprises admin and patient including multiple consulting rooms, a treatment/recovery suite, and on-site laboratory facilities. All our designs were undertaken to comply with Health Technical Memorandum requirements.
