AUDLEY Clevedon House

Audley’s retirement village in Ilkley is arranged around the historical Clevedon House. What was once a Victorian schoolhouse is now the carefully restored centrepiece building of the village, re-built stone by stone to house the restaurant, bistro, lounge/library, swimming pool and health centre.
We were appointed to undertake mechanical and electrical designs for a redeveloped residential block within the existing village. Previously an on-site care home, this block was demolished with only one stone façade retained. It was carefully rebuilt to accommodate twelve new, self-contained apartments arranged over two storeys. We also undertook SAP calculations for each apartment, and Part L calculations for the communal areas.
In addition to our design responsibilities, we adopted a site-monitoring role for both this block and another larger block that contained 26 apartments over three storeys. These two blocks form the last phase of the high-quality residential accommodation on site.
