As its name affirms, Brewhouse Lane was once the location of a significant brewery, located in Putney’s wharf area on the southern side of the Thames. The warehouses had long fallen into dilapidation having been abandoned in 1949, but the brewery building itself was listed and accordingly was refurbished. It is now a key building within this mixed-use development; part of Wandsworth’s waterfront regeneration project.
Our responsibilities comprised full mechanical, electrical and public health engineering services design for the residential developments. Combining luxury apartments with affordable accommodation, the ‘footprint’ of this aspect of the project reached 86,000 ft², housing some 210 dwellings in total.
The scope of our engagement also encompassed shell-and-core provisions for retail and restaurant units within the scheme including all new main statutory services connections.
