This Audley Retirement Village in Malvern is situated in a conservation area on a heritage-rich site. Once the home of the town’s first ‘water cure treatment facility’, Ellerslie House is the oldest building on the estate and dates back to 1855. Further buildings were added in the early 1900s when the property became the home of a girls’ boarding school and, latterly a prestigious college. Today, the site has been sympathetically redeveloped; retaining four of the original buildings with their beautiful listed features.
Working closely with the architects we created mechanical, electrical, and public health services designs for the entirety of the project, from planning to tender and post-tender site monitoring. Our schemes encompassed the refurbishment of the four existing buildings, including the main Ellerslie House. We also designed full services for the additional new build blocks, which ranged from stand-alone ‘cottages’ to multi apartment blocks.
We have a number of registered SAP Assessors within SVM and so all SAP calculations were undertaken in-house. In addition, we carried out a review and consolidation of the cross-site energy strategy to meet with planning regulations.
