We’ve created a dynamic environment for our engineers: our offices are open-plan, and we’ve banished director’s ‘offices’. Working side-by-side with peers, support staff, CAD team and the directors inspires the free flowing of ideas, information and discussion.
Unlike many other practices, our three directors are all fee-earners, taking an active role in every one of our projects. Each Spring - just before exam prep takes over your every waking moment - we commence our search for pragmatic and meticulous engineers to join our team. Ideal candidates have a 2:1 BEng Honours degree (minimum), and will enjoy the variety, exposure and opportunity that only come from working in a medium-sized practice. What awaits you is an exciting and challenging array of projects, a structured mentoring framework, and support with further studies as you strive towards your Chartered Engineer status.
As a graduate engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing how buildings operate. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues, architects and other construction professionals across a range of building types and sizes.

Training & development
Individual talent is incredibly important to us, and when we spot it we like to provide the support and opportunity for you to develop and advance your skills.
We believe in stoking the individual drive of our employees, expanding their skills both within and beyond the traditional confines of their chosen discipline. We won’t just give you new skills, new opportunities and teach you about every aspect of the engineering design world; we’ll help you grow as an individual too. If that sounds like we want to push you to achieve your full potential, then that’s right. We do.
Here’s how we’ve supported our engineers recently:
- Funding and coaching one engineer in her postgraduate studies to achieve a diploma in Energy & Sustainable Building Design
- Supporting one of our graduate engineers through his degree, and then funding his studies for a masters in Sustainable Energy Systems
- BIM training – not only for our CAD team but also for our engineers
- Funding one of our recent graduates to become a qualified SAP Assessor
- We support your ongoing CPD endeavours with a bespoke programme of regular, in-house ‘picnic’ seminars offering bite-sized skills refreshers (with lunch!)
It’s important to us that our employees form bonds on a personal level, not just over a computer screen, so we bring the ‘work-hard, play-hard’ ethos into effect on a regular basis. Within the past year we have been tobogganing, rock climbing and pitch-and-putting, and in the summer we host a barbecue for all our staff and their families.
