Tate Gallery

Lighting Design

SVM undertook all the internal and external lighting design at Tate Britain and the Clore Gallery where we worked closely with Stirling Wilford, the Architects. More recently, we were working with John Miller & Partners and have completed the designs for the new Centenary project involving a dozen new galleries, and new public spaces.

Great care is taken to blend artificial light with daylight and colour rendering and energy efficiency are important together with high levels of uniformity.

Each Gallery has its own control panel, providing eight scenes, selected by the building management system or locally by the Gallery Operator.
