Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem

SVM were the lighting designers for the recently completed refurbishment of the Holy Sepulchre. In addition to artificial light sources, fibre optic tubes were used to "pipe" in daylight.

Many ceremonies that take place within the Holy Sepulchre involve the use of candles and flaming torches.  SVM designed mechanical ventilation systems to supplement natural ventilation. A layer of fresh air protects the roof decorations from the harmful effects of the smoke from flaming torches.
