Jersey Waterfront Hotel
Residential and Commercial Development
It was recognised for many years that this location would be ideal for a new hotel overlooking the harbour, and various plans were put forward.
Considerable publicity, as well as resistance from the islanders, has been generated; especially because of its prime position. Responding to local pressure and reaction from the Planning Committee, the initial design has been changed dramatically to a different shape and height with different facades.
Finally, following several meetings, a revised application was submitted and planning consent was eventually granted in March 2000 for a 238 bedroom hotel.
SVM has been involved with this hotel development since the first outline schemes were produced in 1997. Working alongside other professional team members, advice was provided by SVM on the design variations and infrastructure requirements.
SVM was commissioned by the new development company, Jersey Waterfront Hotel Development Limited, to carry out full performance specifications for the mechanical and electrical building engineering services. These include lift and public health services.
This hotel has been completed and is now open to the public.
